SARASOTA COUNTY, FL -

A Lehigh Acres father, his teenage son, and another man are facing charges for stealing a 30-foot boat and trailer.

Sarasota County deputies say Steven Miller Sr., 39, his son Steven Miller Jr., 16, and Dennis Flint, 47 tried to steal a trailer early Monday morning in the area of McIntosh and Sawyer Loop roads, but were scared off by the owner.  Investigators say the trio turned to a home they had cased before on Nautilus Drive, and stole a 30-foot Donzi boat and trailer.

The Sheriff's Office identified their vehicle as a white extended cab Dodge Ram, and were able to arrest them.

All three suspects face charges of grand theft and attempted grand theft.  Mr. Miller and Flint are also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for including Miller's son in the crime. Flint is also charged with possession of marijuana, and Mr. Miller faces an additional charge for violating probation.  Both men have extensive and violent criminal histories.
