In honor of Earth Day, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit is offering free rides to passengers all day Monday.

HART will give you a free ride if you board with a friend. This offer is not valid for HARTPlus or the StreetCar.

Riding public transportation can reduce a person's carbon footprint by 20 pounds daily or more than 4800 pounds annually, according to publictransportation.org. It can also save you money. Driving with one less car in a household can save up to $9,900 per year, according to that website.
