Miami International Airport back to normal after evacuation

MIAMI, FL -

Authorities evacuated a section of Miami International Airport Thursday morning. According to NBC 6, an airport official said there was a suspicious device or bag found near a check point at the airport.

Police and Transportation Security Administration responded to the incident at Concourse D. They evacuated the passengers and cleared the area. They opened it up shortly after.

The airport officials told reporters, the incident was caused by a suspicious object inside a passenger's carryon luggage.

No flights have been affected by the incident, but it caused heavy traffic delays according to NBC 6.
