POLK COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

A driver rear-ended a Polk County School District bus while it was loading students at the intersection of County Road 542 and Fish Hatchery Road Thursday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol, investigating the incident, told us Ronald A. Szekely, 67 of Lakeland, didn't notice the school bus at the intersection.  His Ford truck hit the bus.

The bus carried 43 students from Tenoroc High School, according to the FHP report.  Rescuers took four students to Lakeland regional Medical Center with minor injures.  Parents came to pick up two other students with minor injuries.

Officials charged Szekely with careless driving. Jared Andrew Yates, 33, of Lakeland who was driving the bus, didn't have any charges against him.
