No bond for school bus driver who allegedly sexually battered 12-year-old boy

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

A Hillsborough County school bus driver remains behind bars Sunday after he was denied bond.  Dacquiri Jermaine Crawford, 29,  is charged Sexual Battery on Child between 12yrs and 18yrs, Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a Child under the age of 16 years, and Trespass on School Property.

Saturday, the Tampa Police Department reported that on Thursday, shortly after 9:00pm, a 12-year-old boy was walking home along the Hillsborough River behind Blake High School.  The victim noticed the suspect, Crawford, standing by a red car parked under the Boulevard Bridge.

Police say Crawford grabbed the boy and forced him down the embankment near the river to a clump of bushes.  Police reported that Crawford performed two sexual acts on the victim and then let him go.  The victim ran home where his mother called 911 at 9:31p.m.   Police say Crawford told the victim that, "If you liked that, I will be back."

Police launched a full scale search for Crawford with patrol, K9 and Air Service.  Officers flooded the area with undercover officers and on Friday at 8:30pm, Crawford returned to the offense location where he was arrested without incident.  Crawford admitted performing the sexual acts and turned over the clothing that he was wearing during the offense.  Police say Crawford is a school bus driver for the Hillsborough County School District.  He was arrested on school property.

Crawford's next door neighbor, Al Michael, says he can't believe the charges against him are true.  "I can't believe ... 12 years old. Wow. Whoa. That's sad man. That's real sad."  Said Michael.  "People need to pray. That's what they need to do. We got too many babies around here for somebody to be living right here. We've got too many kids around here for people to be doing stuff like that. "
