A new group is forming to fight for St. Petersburg's new pier design The Lens. Wow St. Pete is hosting a huge art, fashion and photography event Thursday night at the Mahaffey Theatre in downtown St. Petersburg.
More than 40 artist will join founder, Anthony Sullivan, in an educational campaign to help people learn more about the proposed Lens design.
"I feel like a lot of false information is being circulated and I just want to get a conversation going", said Sullivan.
Sullivan who became famous alongside the late Billy Mays in pitching Oxy Clean products lives in St. Petersburg's Snell Isles. The new father and St. Petersburg resident says efforts to have constructive conversations with the group that opposes The Lens, "Concerned Citizens", have failed.
"I attended a Saturday Morning Market forum, but it wasn't a conversation." Sullivan said.
So tonight Sullivan is hosting an event which is free to the public where people can enjoy art, a fashion show, and food compliments of the Columbia Restaurant.
Tickets are free but you need to log on to print one out for entry.
