TSN report says Lightning's Conacher traded to Ottawa

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

TSN, a Canadian sports network, reports that the Tampa Bay Lightning have traded rookie forward, Cory Conacher, to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for goaltender, Ben Bishop.  The report also says the Senators will receive a 4th round 2013 draft pick from the Lightning.

Conacher captured the interest of Lightning fans immediately this season, scoring a goal and recording an assist in his NHL on January 19th against the Washington Capitals.  Conacher registered at least a point in his first four games.

Bishop has appeared in 13 games for the Senators this season, taking over for injured starting goaltender, Craig Anderson.  Bishop has established a record of 8 wins, 5 losses with a goals against average of 2.45.

The move creates another option at goaltender for the Lightning, who have watched free agent acquisition, Anders Lindback, post inconsistent performances this season, his first as a starter.

Lindback has not played since March 20th and his nursing an injured ankle.

Wednesday is the deadline for NHL teams to make non-waiver trades.
