Kraft's Mac and Cheese yellow color under fire

Posted: Updated:

Two North Carolina bloggers claim that the artificial dyes in the macaroni and cheese boxed dinners produced by Kraft contain chemicals linked to hyperactivity in children and other health problems.

Lisa Leak and Vani Hari filed a petition against Kraft. They requested the company to remove all artificial dyes from its products.

"Hopefully that will lead to other changes with other products with other companies," said Leak.

The petition received thousands of signatures. Kraft has responded to the campaign saying the FDA has approved both dyes they use.

Kraft representatives reminded they do offer several versions colored naturally in the U.S.
