Child porn investigation nets Dunedin man

Posted: Updated:
DUNEDIN, FL -

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit have arrested 48-year-old Lawrence M. Lemieux Tuesday morning for possessing and distributing child pornography.  Detectives say Lemieux was arrested at his home at 801 Main Street, Lot 36, in Dunedin as a result of an undercover Internet investigation. The investigation, detectives say, began on December 20, 2012, and identified Lemieux as potential suspect sharing child pornography videos via the Internet.

While serving a search warrant, detectives say Lemieux was interviewed and admitted to downloading the child pornography on his computer. Detectives say the computer was found to contain additional videos of prepubescent males engaging in sexual activity.  Detectives also say Lemieux admitted to knowledge of sharing the files via the Internet.

Lemieux was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail.

Lemieux was charged with the following:  10 counts Sexual Performance by a Child (Possession of Child Pornography) and 1 count Promoting the Sexual Performance by a Child (Distribution of Child Pornography).

The investigation continues.
