TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

It seems like the rumor mill has focused its attention on Jon Cooper as being the next head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Several hockey news agencies, including TSN and Hockey Buzz, are making the prediction that Cooper, coach of the Lightning's American League affiliate in Syracuse, will be named as Guy Boucher's replacement as early as Tuesday with a press conference to follow on Wednesday.

Cooper is held in high regard in the AHL and many experts felt it was only a matter of time before he made his debut in the big leagues.  At this point Monday, this prediction is an unconfirmed rumor.  We all know what happen last time when many news agencies were predicting Brett Favre was coming to the Bucs!
