Man acted erratically before elevator death at TIA

Newly released video shows Pennsylvania tourist Chad Wolfe, 31, acted erratically in the final hours of his life.
The video, released by Tampa International Airport, shows Wolfe's bizarre behavior last Friday before falling to his death in an elevator shaft.
At 12:36 a.m., the video cameras inside the airport showed Wolfe leave his girlfriend and get into a 3rd floor elevator. Just moments before, another camera shows Wolfe drinking something from a small bottle.
After Wolfe's death, investigators found an airline-sized vodka bottle along with an empty Xanax bottle in his pocket.
The video also showed Chad and his girlfriend taking separate elevators from the third floor. She went down to baggage claim; he headed up to short-term parking on the 7th floor
Wolfe could also be seen on surveillance cameras trying to climb a tree inside the airport terminal.
A state inspector found the locking mechanism on the 7th floor elevator door leading to the shaft where Wolfe's body was found was "compromised". What they don't know is if Wolfe tampered with it, or if it was like that before he fell.
Airport officials said the elevator passed an inspection in January. Since the accident, all of the elevators were inspected and found to be working fine.
The elevator where Wolfe fell remains closed for repairs.
