Happy birthday Twitter!

The "real-time information network" Twitter turns seven years old Thursday.

The first tweet ever was sent on the evening of March 21 in 2006 by Twitter creator Jack Dorsey. It read "Just setting up my twttr"

Today the network has over 200 million registered users. About 400 million tweets are sent every day.

Justin Bieber has the highest amount of followers, over 36 million, the close second is Lady Gaga with about 35 million.

Jack Dorsey who is also a co-founder and CEO of Square, mobile payments company, told "60 Minutes" on Sunday that he might run for mayor of New York.
