St. Petersburg Police: Two students arrested with loaded gun, marijuana on school property

ST PETERSBURG -

Gibbs High School students were arrested on the school grounds Tuesday on charges of firearm and marijuana possession, according to St. Petersburg Police Department report.

Joshua Lajuan Register and Marquelle Stephon Dryman, both 17, were caught inside the concession stand at the school's athletic field smoking marijuana after they broke into it, police said.

Officers told us they found 25-caliber semiautomatic handgun in Register's backpack. Armed burglary charges were added to the list.

Register has been arrested before for similar offences and an assault on a school board employee and a battery on a law enforcement officer.
