Tampa Police Department warn local business owners to be on the look out for small key logging devices on their credit card machines.
Those key loggers look like a small flash drive. They capture and store customers' credit card information, when criminals install them into the credit card machines, police said. Criminals then retrieve and use consumers' credit card information.
Business owners don't know sometimes that the device has been placed. It is not possible for customers to detect the device until it's too late, according to the police report.
TPD ask the business owners to inspect their credit card machines and computers regularly and diligently, stop using the equipment and call law enforcement if they find anything suspicious.
