Deputies: armed man locked himself at a store in Seffner

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -

An armed man locked himself at The Car Store on East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Seffner, Hillsborough County Sheriff Office deputies told us. They have the man in custody.

Corey Dylan, 36, came to The Car Store to see his friend, the store owner, according to the deputies report. Dylan started acting strangely, pulled a knife on his friend and shot his gun a few times, deputies said.

Then he grabbed a shovel, smashed the windows of several cars and locked himself in the store. By that time all the employees left the store, according to the HCSO report.

The deputies evacuated surrounding buildings, they told us. The man was threatening to harm himself, SWAT team was on the way to help with the situation. 

Deputies made contact with Dylan and arrested him without incident.

Dylan is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and a few other charges.
