Dave Kraut started working at News Channel 8 in October 2002. Hired as a photographer, Dave was assigned to work in Pasco and Hernando counties. In 2008, Dave was promoted to taking on the role of reporter.
Dave is a Pinellas County native. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1990. In 1995, Dave graduated with a B.A. from the University of South Florida. After a short internship, Dave was hired by WTSP as a video editor in 1994.
Dave has won numerous Society of Professional Journalism awards as well as an AP award for hurricane coverage in 2004 and an Edward R. Murrow award for catching hurricane looters robbing a business.
Dave enjoys spending time with his two girls. He is an avid runner and triathlete and enjoys hunting and fishing.
