Detective travels to MA arrests cop for sexual battery on Bay Area minor

On Wednesday a Detective from the Haines City Police Department flew to Massachusetts and with the assistance of the Andover Police Department and Lawrence Police Department arrested Police Officer Carlos Gonzalez for sexually battery on a juvenile between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age and giving alcohol to a person under the age of 21.
Authorities say the battery occurred while Gonzalez was on vacation in the Bay Area on or about July 22, 2012. The investigation was prompted by notification from the Lawrence Police Department who had received a complaint regarding the sexual battery of a juvenile.
Gonzalez is being held without bail and has been scheduled for arraignment in the Lawrence District Court. The investigation is ongoing.
