A pedestrian was hit by a car at the intersection of 58th Street and 15th Avenue South in Gulfport Wednesday night, Gulfport police said.
Jay J. Bowman of Gulfport was crossing 15th Avenue when he was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe heading west, according to the police report. Bowman was taken to Bayfront Medical Center. His condition is listed as critical, Gulfport police said.
Witnesses at the scene said it was Bowman's fault, according to the police report. Alexa J. Durbin of Redington Shores, who was driving the Chevy, was not injured. There are no charges filed against her in this accident, Gulfport police said.
