HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reported that the suspect, Alexis Testa-Yero, wanted in connection with Aggravated Battery of his estranged wife had been taken into custody.

Deputies received information Sunday as to the whereabouts of Testa-Yero.  He was found at a family members residence.  When deputies arrived, Yero fled on foot and was located by a Sheriff's Office K-9 hiding in a shed nearby.

Early Wednesday, February 27th, Tania Martinez, 36, was headed to work in her Nissan Altima when Testa-Yero jumped up after hiding in the back seat and started choking her with a rope, according to the sheriff's office.  She lost control of the car, drove through a fence and the car flipped, landing upright at 4502 Paris St. W., the sheriff's office said.

She was knocked unconscious but woke when Testa-Yero tried to choke her again with the rope, according to the sheriff's office. Testa-Yero then fled the accident scene.  Martinez was treated at the scene.
