A Health Advisory has been issued for Ben T. Davis, and Cypress Point beach based on a high level of enterococci bacteria. This should be considered a potential risk to the public.
The water samples are being analyzed for enteric bacteria which is an indication of fecal pollution, which may come from storm water runoff, pets and wildlife, and human sewage. This bacteria can cause human disease, infections, or rashes.
