State grants Pasco schools permission to postpone FCAT writing

Posted: Updated:
PASCO COUNTY, FL -

Due to possible severe weather, the District School Board of Pasco County requested, and received permission from the Florida Department of Education to delay FCAT writing exams, scheduled statewide for Tuesday.  The district's Office for Accountability, Research and Measurement notified schools this morning that they could choose to test students tomorrow if they had not already started testing.

Any schools that chose to postpone testing were directed to notify the office.  At this point, only six elementary schools have chosen to wait until tomorrow to administer the exam.  The schools are Chasco, Gulf Highlands, Moon Lake, Pine View, Richey, and Woodland elementary schools.
