From runners to walkers and everyone in between, the Gasparilla half marathon started in the early morning hours on Sunday.  The half marathon race began at 6 a.m. and spanned Bayshore Boulevard onto Davis Island and back again.  Coming in first was Jonathan Mott for the men with a time of 1:09:50 and for the women was Terri Rejilbam with a 1:23:35.

News Channel 8's very own Rod Carter participated in this morning's 8K race that started at 9 a.m.  We are extremely proud of Rod who timed in at 56:03!  Congratulations all the other racers who braved the course!
