The Florida Orchestra musicians and conductors went to the International Plaza on Saturday, but not on a shopping spree.
They set up a surprise performance at the Grand Court, almost like a flash mob. The orchestra's entrance was slightly choreographed to enhance the element of surprise.
The event organizers told us, this was a part of the orchestra community engagement initiative. The organizers wanted to showcase the quality of the orchestra and the talents of the musicians.
This also an attempt to remind the community how much joy the orchestra can bring outside the concert hall.
The orchestra performed Stravinsky's "Finale from Firebird", Copland's "Hoe Down from Rodeo", and Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever".
