Gasparilla Distance Classic's 15k and 5k runs and the Kellogg's 5K Stroller Roll roamed down the streets of Tampa Saturday.
This year's race attracted over 30,000 participants from US and Canada.
Alex Dupont came from Quebec to race in the 15k wheelchair race. He will return to Canada as a winner.
"It's a great course down and back," he said. "We are use to a tricky course where you turn right and left go up and down cobble stones and stuff like that and here it's nice and flat and fast."
Austin Richmond finished first in the 15k men's race today. He enjoys the race and the cash prize that comes with the first place.
"This is one of the only races that offer a prize purse. So it's attracts elite athletes. We get fast athletes. And it's like everything all in one," he said.
Briana Whaley was the fastest woman of the weekend. She won 15k women's. This victory had a special meaning for her too.
"Today was my daughters birthday so she said for her present she wanted me to win. She was in the hospital all week so this was my stress relief," Whaley said. "And thank God I was able to pull through."
