HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -

Hillsborough County extended the boil water alert to include a part of the Lake Magdalene area between Lake Magdalene Drive and Chapman Road, Interstate 275, Bearss Avenue,  along Rome Avenue to Magdalene Hill Drive.

Avila is not impacted.

The county officials explained, that people receive water in this area through the interconnected pipeline from the city of Tampa.

About 3400 customers in the Clair Mel area and the neighborhood south of the Hillsborough River and west of 56th Street need to boil their tap water for the next 48 hours as well. These customers pay the county for their water, but the water comes from the city, according to the officials' report.

The county customers can call 813-744-5600 for more information.
