A brush fire burned dangerously close to a Hillsborough County family's home Thursday afternoon.

"I'm very thankful because the firefighters got here on time and I'm thankful to god," said Daniel Saldierna.

Firefighters stopped the flames about 5-feet away from the mobile home Saldierna's parents own on Maple Mex Street. Heat from the fire melted sheets of siding off the exterior, but there was no damage inside.

"I was scared because I thought my mom was in there, my sister, the baby. My sister's pregnant, so I was scared for them," said Saldierna.

Saldierna's pregnant sister took video with her cell phone as flames raced towards the home. Hillsborough County fire officials said the wildfire scorched 30 acres. Spokesman Ronnie Rivera said 25 firefighters teamed up to keep the blaze from the residential area.

"They did a great job," said Rivera.

Fire officials have not yet said what sparked the fire.
