ST PETERSBURG -

U.S. Representative Kathy Castor will host a job fair in St. Petersburg Thursday. Organizers say over 50 employers will attend this event.

City of St. Petersburg, Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance and WorkNet Pinellas will co-host the event. This is the second job fair for Castor.

"This event is a one-stop forum for those who are seeking job opportunities and job development resources," she said. "Tampa Bay's economy is improving and employment is up, but many of our neighbors are in search of opportunities."

The public and private companies that will attend the fair are looking to hire 1500 people locally and nationally for positions in customer service, banking, education, heath and medical services.

More than 1200 people attended the fair last year.

The fair starts at 10 am at the Coliseum at 535 Fourth Ave. North in St. Petersburg. The admission is free.
