Courtney Campbell deadly crash

TAMPA, FL -

One person is dead, one injured after a deadly motorcycle collision on the Courtney Campbell Causeway Wednesday, according to Tampa Police officers and Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

A motorcycle with a passenger rear-ended a parked Florida Highway Petrol vehicle on the east bound of the bridge. The FHP trooper was there to ensure safety of the construction workers, officers said.

The man driving the motorcycle died on the scene, the surviving female passenger is in critical condition at St Joseph's Hospital, officers said. The FHP trooper is not injured. FHP is investigating the accident.

The crash is not obstructing the morning traffic.
