SARASOTA, FL -

Wednesday morning Sarasota Police Officers patrolling the area of Bethune Ct. located a vehicle they believed was being driven by Kenthen Swain who had an active domestic battery warrant.

Swain, 23 years old, was arrested for the active warrant without incident. During the arrest the officers smelled what they believed was Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Authorities say the officers discovered a small bag of Marijuana and more than 120 rocks of Cocaine.

The officers stated that the rocks of Cocaine were still wet indicating they had just been "cooked" and formed. Officers also reported a water pipe with evidence of marijuana being recently smoked was located under the driver's seat.

The area where Swain was parked and possessed the narcotics, police said, was near a Boys and Girls Club facility. Swain was charged with Possession of Cocaine within 1000 feet of a Community Center, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Chief Bernadette DiPino said, "I am proud of the narcotics enforcement by our officers. Drug crimes contribute to many other crimes including burglaries, armed robberies and prostitution to name just a few. Our agency will continue to aggressively enforce drug laws in order to keep our community safe."
