POLK COUNTY, FL -

When detectives pulled over Lydia Santiago, 38, of Bartow, Tuesday, they found two pounds of methamphetamine and $8,000 in cash in her SUV, they said. Her three children were also in the car.

Sheriff Grady Judd says Santiago is a major drug dealer in the county. Judd says, " Lydia was a pound dealer, so she moved a lot of drugs. She ran a large scale drug distribution ring at the pound level."

Bob Altman lives across the street from Santiago's Bartow home and says he has suspected drug dealing from the home for some time.

Altman says, " You see cars, going and coming all times of the night, I mean up to early in the morning and at 2:00, 3:00 in the morning, people don't come visit that time of night."

Santiago's arrest was a result of almost a year long investigation of illegal drugs sales Polk County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force members conducted in the area.

Detectives arrested six other suspects and took hold of over 50 pounds of methamphetamine, three cars, three motorcycles, $13,300 cash, and three firearms. Three of those arrests were made at Santiago's home, according to detectives' report.

Santiago's children were turned over the Department of Children and Families.

Santiago and the other arrested men are in jail on drug-related charges.
