Reward goes up for Hillsborough Co. Sheriff's specialty dog

Posted: Updated:

A one thousand dollar reward is being offered for a missing dog that belongs to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy.

Sergeant Ron Cain says " Doc" is a mixed breed cattle dog that belongs to his brother, Deputy Lowell Cain. Sergeant Cain says Lowell was returning from Sarasota over the weekend with " Doc" in a specially made trailer. He says somehow " Doc" escaped from the trailer and was found along Interstate 75 near Fruiteville Road. Sergeant Cain says " Doc" is highly trained dog that is used to round up cattle. Security camera video from a gas station shows that someone found " Doc", gave him water and then apparently took him home. A one thousand dollar reward is being offered for the dogs safe return.
