Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reported the specially trained cattle dog Doc that went missing on Saturday near Fruitville Road and I75, is likely in Tampa Bay area.
Doc is Agriculture Detective Lowell Cain's personal dog. Doc often to helps heard cows off the roadways and other places as needed. Doc escaped from his trailer attached to a moving car Saturday morning.
An eyewitness told HCSO Sgt. Ron Cain that a man pulled over on the highway and gave the dog some water. Doc had some road rash but other than that was ok, the witness said to Cain.
The man was going to take Doc to his home in Tampa, the witness said. The witness did not have any information about the man.
Doc is still missing. A $500 reward is being offered.
The sheriff's office is asking anybody with information about Doc to contact Ron Cain at (813) 318-5681 or the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
