LAKELAND, FL -

If you're looking for a job, you may want to take a look at Polk County.

Polk Works pledges to hire 10,000 people before the end of June and kicked off its Race To Place campaign with a massive job fair Monday at the Lakeland Center. More than 1,000 registered for the event and at least that many more showed up to wait in line and pass out resumes.

There were 100 employers with booths at the fair and they all said they have available jobs.

Marybeth Soderstrom, of Polk Works, says they all have available jobs.

"You know the jobs really range from part-time to full-time, lower entry wage, all the way to professional level jobs because here in Polk county we have an interesting job market and we're really looking for all sort of people at all levels," she said.

Some of the employers hiring are Legoland, Frito Lay and Vogel Brothers Building Company.

Hiring manager Drew Broderick says he has 25 jobs.

"I think this is going to be a good use of our time today. We're going to come away with some opportunities."

If you missed your opportunity for a face-to-face interview , you can still apply for some of these jobs. You can go to www.PolkWorks.org to find out more about the jobs and learn how to apply.
