Victim count reaches 20 for traveling scam artists, deputies say

POLK COUNTY, FL -

The Polk County Sheriff's deputies said Friday, seven more people fell prey to the traveling scam artists.

The sheriff's deputies arrested four men last week who they said, used inferior products to pave people's driveways in the Auburndale area.

This week the deputies took sworn statements and the samples of the rock and dirt mixture from seven people, totaling the victim count at 20, according to the deputies' report.

The four men now face 401 charges between them: Chad Lee Jr. with 95 charges, Chad Lee Sr. with 112 charges, Richard Pierce with 111 charges, and Jim Stevens with 83 charges.

The detectives say, more victims came forward due to the media coverage.
