Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies find a pipe bomb

POLK COUNTY, FL -

Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies set out to investigate a domestic battery call Tuesday in the Lakeland area but discovered a bomb, they told us.

"The dangers are very real, and this case is a perfect example of how quickly one call can become a potentially life-threatening situation - and as we've seen over and over, drugs were involved," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.

The sheriff's deputies arrested Jason Lloyd, 34, at a home he shared with his girlfriend Heather Foreman, 29, after they found drugs and drug paraphernalia, some copper wire, ammunition and a pipe bomb.

The State Fire Marshal's office deputies detonated the bomb.

The detectives said, Lloyd also modified the power pole outside his home to steal electricity.

Lloyd is facing over 20 charges and is held on no bond.

"Over and over again, we see how important it is for those who victimize our communities to be held accountable for their actions," said Judd.
