The Home Depot hiring seasonal workers in the Tampa Bay area

In preparation for its busiest selling season, The Home Depot announced it plans to hire 80,000 seasonal workers across the country. The Home Depot stores in Tampa are expected to hire 1,350 people to kick off the spring season.

Home Depot representatives say those interested in seasonal work should apply immediately. Many of these jobs, representatives say, lead to permanent positions. The company says that of the seasonal positions hired in the Bay Area last year, half transitioned into regular position.

For returning military and veterans, The Home Depot has its Online Military Skills Translator that matches military skills with positions within the company.

Both the skills translator and a calendar of military hiring events can be found at www.careers.homedepot.com/military.

The company says that seasonal associates will be assigned responsibilities based on their previous retail or home improvement experience and based on the needs of individual stores.
