TAMPA, FL -

Carrollwood Day School students experienced Wheel & Pedal simulator Wednesday as a part of "Txtng & Drivng…It Can Wait" AT&T public awareness campaign.

The attachable wheel and the pedal make the simulator look like a video game. But the issues the campaign is aimed at, are serious.

Texting drivers are 23 times more likely to be in an accident, according to the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute Research.

The wireless service provider has been striving to attract attention to the problem of texting and driving for a while and now they are bringing it to the classrooms.

The students drove the simulator as a part of their their Primary Years Program Exhibition research dealing with the social issue of texting and driving.
