AAA Travel reports Floridians to travel more in 2013

Posted: Updated:

Starting to get the travel bug? You're not alone. Tuesday, AAA Travel announced that it expects 2013 to be a busy year for travel. The travel organization reported that the majority of Floridians (60%) plan to take two to three vacations this year consisting of four days or more, according to its recent AAA Consumer Pulse™ survey.

The survey also showed that in the next three months, 3 out of 4 Florida residents plan to take a vacation that is at least 50 miles from their home and expect to spend up to $2,000 on their trip.

Recognizing the demand, AAA will host its first Travel Expo Super Show at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, February 17. The event, free to both members and non-members of AAA, will showcase many tour and attraction partners.

Brent Hubele, vice president, AAA Travel says, "We're anticipating a high demand for travel this year and wanted to meet the expectations and needs of travelers in the Tampa Bay area, which is why AAA decided to host its largest travel expo to date."
