Florida's Red Snapper season may be shortest on record

Federal officials say this year's Red Snapper season will likely be one of the shortest on record- at 27 days. 

Red Snapper is a federally regulated species. According to NOAA, federal officials set catch limits and season lengths to protect the species from overfishing.However, there are side effects. Both recreational and commercial fishermen say this regulation impacts their bottom line.
