Lowry Park Zoo goes Pre-historic with DinoQuest 2

Posted: Updated:

Dinosaurs came marching into Lowry Park Zoo early Monday as the park gears up for pre-historic fun with DinoQuest 2 and Dino Nites. Zoo officials say paleontologists of ages will appreciate this amazing exhibit area of 22 life-like and life-size dinosaurs. Visitors can experience their prehistoric pals during the day, take a Zoo School program featuring primitive predators, or visit the exhibit in the dark at Dino Nites.

Made by a Texas company, the DinoQuest 2 dinosaurs use animatronics allowing them to move, blink and roar. This hands-on exhibit allows explorers to gather fun Dino facts, practice paleontology at the "I Dig It" fossil dig site, try moving the mechanical T-rex, and then speed down the "Velocity-Raptor" slide. Zoo officials say dinosaur relics will also be available at the "Shop-A-Saurus" gift shop.

The zoo also will feature a nighttime venue with Dino Nites. Dino Nites tickets include access to select areas of the Zoo and rides.

DinoQuest 2 runs from March 1 to May 28th. Dino Nites will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on select Friday and Saturday nights. For more information about DinoQuest 2 and Dino Nites, including costs, please visit the zoo's Website by clicking here.
