Fans of the Disney Channel show, "Austin and Ally" know 20-year-old Calum Worthy as "Dez." He plays the zany best friend to the shows star, Austin.
"He's a very fun and crazy character," said Worthy. "He's always doing crazy things, having crazy ideas."
Fans who are crazy for the show got a chance to meet Worthy Friday morning at the Florida State Fair. It's especially appealing to the tween set, girls between the ages of 7 and 12.
He signed autographs, took pictures and even did a question and answer session with dozens of kids who turned out for the event.
"This is part of the Radio Disney Live tour, and we're going to different cities across America," he said. "It's a great chance for us to meet the people that have been devoted fans of our shows, and also a chance for them to meet us, as well."
Most kids want to know what's the best thing about playing Dez. Worthy said he's a fun character because he is always doing something new.
"I'm actually tap dancing on the show now," he laughed. "They decided Dez should be a tap dancer.
Worthy will be holding two more meet and greets in the bay area on Saturday, February 9th. The first will at the Dillard's Wesfield Countryside from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The second is being held at Dillard's Westfield Brandon, at the Brandon Town Center Mall from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
