Florida Department of Transportation workers William McDonald and Thomas Wilhelmsen stopped a man who tried to leave a motorcycle accident scene Thursday, according to a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office report.
Deputies say Obispo Valentin, 26, was driving his Ford pickup on County Road 672 when a motorcyclist hit his driver's door as Valentin was turning onto Balm Wimauma Road.
Valentin stopped the truck in a few yards and tried to run away. McDonald and Wilhelmsen stopped and held him until the deputies arrived on-scene.
The motorcyclist Brandon Collett was air-lifted to Tampa General Hospital. He is in critical condition, the deputies said.
Valentin is arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a crash and no valid drivers license.
