Virginia fugitive caught in Tampa four decades later

TAMPA, FL (WFLA) -

Members of the United States Marshals Service, Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man Thursday in Tampa, who is accused of killing three people nearly four decades ago.

Eddie Jack Washington, 59, was wanted in West Virginia for allegedly shooting and killing three people execution style in the 1970s, the police report stated.

The detectives recently received information that identified Washington as a shooter, according to the report.

The US Marshals Service investigators stopped Washington at the Friendly Meat and Grocery on 34th Street North in Tampa.

He is being questioned by homicide detectives.
