Midnight cookout turns into a murder in Clearwater

A cookout party in Clearwater turned deadly after midnight Tuesday when Ronald Lefave, 44, stabbed and killed David Kilen, 26, according to the Clearwater Police Department report.

The Clearwater police officers responded to a fight call on Hillcrest Avenue and found Kilen with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to the Morton Plant Hospital and pronounced dead there, according to the report. 

The police say, a house knife was used in Lefave's final argument in a fight that broke between the two.

Lefave has no criminal history in Pinellas County.
