ST. PETERSBURG, FL -
Mayor Bill Foster will open the new Skyway extension to the Pinellas trail on Saturday.
The Skyway extension will run along the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and end at the North Skyway Fishing Pier. The extension also attaches to the Bayway Trail with a bike route to Fort De Soto.
The Federal Highway Administration provided the grant to cover the building expenses. The Florida Department of Transportation took care of the fund administration locally, according to the mayor's office.
Mayor Foster will open the new extension on Saturday at 10:30 AM on the trail behind the CVS store at 54th Ave. South and 37th St. The public is invited to attend.
