Jerry Penacoli, best known as a correspondent for Extra, is now joining syndicated talk show Daytime.
Penacoli taped his first show today at the News Center in downtown Tampa.
"It's going to be good," Penacoli said.
The 56-year-old is giving up the L.A. lifestyle and becoming a Bay Area resident full time.
"I've owned a home in St. Pete since February of last year, and my mom spends a lot of time at my sister's and they live in Valrico. My brother-in law is here in the area. This is our home," he said.
Penacoli will join Cyndi Edwards as co-host of Daytime replacing Lindsay MacDonald who is leaving the show to spend more time with her family.
"I know the audience is just going to love him," Edwards explained. "Because he is exactly the way you see him on TV He's warm, and he's outgoing, and he's friendly and he's sweet."
Penacoli's first episode of Daytime is set to air Monday February 4th at 11am on WFLA.
