Bubba Goes Back on Air After Shock Jock Trial

Posted: Updated:

Bubba "The Love Sponge" Clem was back behind the microphone today and like usual, not holding back. He dedicated his show to talking about the shock jock trial and playing original songs jabbing Todd "MJ" Schnitt.

"It was the one dark cloud over us," Clem told his listeners. "For five years we've had this hanging over our heads."

Wednesday the jury unanimously decided in Clem's favor. Although the radio guy's speech may have been offensive to Schnitt and his wife, it didn't include defamation.

Clem spent the morning taking encouraging calls from viewers and asking jurors to call the station. A few hours into the show a woman, claiming to be a juror, talked live on air. Bubba's attorney, Joseph Diaco, asked her if she thought Schnitt's attorney did a good job in closing arguments.

"I think he made some good points," the woman said. "But I think you (Diaco's) your argument is what nailed it."

Bubba calls his win a victory for media everywhere. As for Schnitt, he's staying relatively quiet but has been re tweeting some of Bubba Army's "mean tweets." He also tweeted "Life goes on!"
