Hillsborough County health officials say the water at a popular Bay Area beach may be unsafe for swimming. Wednesday, the health department issued a health advisory for Ben T. Davis Beach, located along the Courtney Campbell Causeway.
Water quality testing indicated higher than acceptable levels of Enterococci bacteria. Another round of testing will be conducted on February 4th. Until testing shows a drop in bacteria levels, health officials say people should avoid contact with the water.
