North Port Police say an employee at an elementary school was transmitting child pornography from his home.
Police arrested Elliot Bullard on Friday. Bullard worked as an IT specialist at Atwater Elementary School.
Police say an undercover Homeland Security Internet operation tracked child porn images to Bullard's home computer. Investigators say they found about 300 child porn images on his computer.
Sarasota County School District Spokesman Scott Ferguson stated that Bullard did not have "unsupervised contact with students."
Bullard is facing eight counts of child pornography possession charges, and one count of transmitting child pornography. Each count could carry a prison sentence from five to 40 years.
Police say there is no danger to the children at Atwater Elementary.
