Officers narrowed down who may be responsible. They found 16-year old Zaki Starks, a junior at Gibbs, near his locker.
"We opened up the locker, he had illegal drugs, crack cocaine, 14-hundred dollars in cash" said St. Petersburg Police Spokesman, Bill Proffitt.
Cops say they found 15 tablets of dilaudid, 8 point six grams of crack. They say Starks admitted, he brought the drugs to school to sell.
In the "Gladiator" locker room, police found 17-year old Zicari Gibbons, the son of community activist and 1-time mayoral candidate, Deveron Gibbons.
In his locker, they say they found a kel-tech 9 millimeter hand gun. "It's shocking to us. And we're law enforcement. That we have 11th graders who are have that much cash, that much drugs, and a semi-automatic hand gun, with 7 rounds of ammunition in a high school.
Parents of Gibbs students are getting a recorded message about the arrests. In it, Principal Stephanie Adkinson says "we have zero tolerance for weapons or drugs at our school and ii would like you to know that these arrests occurred without incident."
